All of our resorts are a festive and fun place to spend Christmas outside skiing with friends and family. The atmosphere in the mountains is fabulous as everyone comes together to enjoy time on and off the slopes. Activities vary by resort, but all have festive lights twinkling throughout the period with Christmas events both before and after the 25th. You may even spot Santa out on his skis in the run up to the big day!
For those who haven’t enjoyed a Christmas skiing holiday before, rest assured that everything in the resort runs as normal on Christmas Day itself. The ski lifts, shops and ski schools all operate as usual. Christmas is always a popular period in our properties, so book early to secure your preferred chalet for your perfect Christmas ski holidays.
Come Christmas in Tignes, expect excellent snow coverage – this high-altitude Alpine resort typically enjoys consistent deep snow by mid-December, both on its glacier and main slopes. Around the festive period, the village is alive with holiday cheer: think twinkling lights, a small Christmas market offering local treats like vin chaud and savoyard cheese, festive torch-lit descents under the stars, and carol singalongs.
December in Val d’Isere usually offers excellent conditions for both beginners and advanced skiers, with well-groomed pistes and access to the glacier ensuring snow security. The village itself glows with festive charm – wooden chalets strung with lights, fire pits crackling in the town square, and a Christmas market filled with local crafts and treats. Traditional celebrations include Father Christmas arriving on a sleigh, live music, and Christmas Eve mass in the stone church. The atmosphere is warm, magical, and perfect for a festive mountain escape.
