Introducing Chalet Alaska

Chalet Alaska was new to the portfolio for 2023/24 and is conveniently positioned in the chalet quarter of Les Almes, close to our La Perle chalet. It’s just over a minute’s walk to the top of the road where you can put your skis or snowboard on to ski down to the Chaudanne and Paquis high-speed chairlifts giving you access to both sides of the mountain in the morning.

After your day on the the mountain, you can ski back to the same point from the Palafour side and you have just 150m to walk to the chalet door.

Chalet Alaska is traditional in style with lots of beautiful local stonework and wood throughout the living areas and bedrooms. All bedrooms have ensuite facilities and the sauna and hot-tub further add to Chalet Alaska’s appeal for groups and couples alike.

What's Included in your Ski Holiday

At Ski Vertigo, we create and operate all our holidays ourselves. We have crafted a package for skiers and snowboarders using our own flights and operate hand-picked chalets which are staffed with our own people, trained to the highest standards.

As a package ski operator, we make your life easy by offering a one-stop shop for buying your chalet holiday. When you buy from us, the whole holiday package is included; flights, transfers and catered chalet accommodation. And we even can add-on great deals on ski extras; lift passes, ski and snowboard hire and tuition.

Room Information

The Ski Area

In 2 minutes, you can be out of the door of Chalet Alaska and onto the nearby blue run that takes you down to either the Chaudanne (for exploring Palafour area) or Paquis chair (to easily get into the Val d’Isere area). Alternatively, in 5 minutes, you can walk down the road to the central rond-point where ski schools meet and there are more lifts and ski buses to Val Claret or even Les Boisses. To return to Chalet Alaska on skis or board, you can ski from the Palafour side and ski almost to the door. Excellent location, near to our other chalet, Chalet La Perle!

The Resort

Chalet Alaska is situated in the Les Almes quarter of Tignes Le Lac where most chalet accommodation is located. There are multiple restaurants, cafés, shops and supermarkets all a short walk away.

There is a leisure centre in Le Lac (free access with a 6 day lift pass), a luge and many other attractions.

Ski/board hire via Ski Vertigo

Prebook your ski/board hire through us before you travel and receive access to our preferential rates. We have partnered with Intersport, the shop that is closest to the central lifts and ski school meeting point, making swaps easier. You will receive a voucher which can be presented at the shop in return for your equipment.

Lift passes via Ski Vertigo

Save hassle in resort and prebook your lift passes through Ski Vertigo for ease and convenience. Call our sales team today on 01252 365490 to prebook them. They will be delivered to your chalet the evening you arrive in resort for your ease and convenience.

Flights

Flights are with British Airways on a Ski Vertigo charter from Heathrow or Gatwick to Lyon.

Heathrow

Outbound: BA8606 at 0730 from LHR Terminal 5 with arrival at 1010 into LYS Terminal 1

Inbound: BA8607 at 1100 from LYS Terminal 1 with arrival at 1140 into LHR Terminal 5

Gatwick

Outbound: BA8624 at 0620 from LGW South Terminal with arrival at 0900 into LYS Terminal 1

Inbound: BA8625 at 1000 from LYS Terminal 1 with arrival at 1040 into LGW South Terminal

Transfers

Coaches will be waiting outside the terminal in Lyon to transfer you directly to Tignes. On the return, you will be transferred directly to Lyon by coach. Transfer time to/from resort is approx. 3 hours under normal conditions.

In Resort

On arrival in resort, all guests will need to disembark at the central bus station where your bags will be transferred by us to your chalet whilst you make your way on foot the short distance to the chalet with our staff. On departure, the same happens in reverse.

My wife and I had our first chalet experience with ski vertigo in Valdisere. We stayed in chalet Ontario and after a huge delay getting to the chalet we were greeted by our two hosts for a late night supper. I can’t speak highly enough of the chalet or the hosts, the food was plentiful and always delicious. Breakfast was a variety of cooked breakfasts, eggs and pastries. Evening meal was always a three course affair and the wine was also delicious with several options available. Coming off the hill to a different cake baked fresh each day was a delight and the hot tub offered welcome relief. The hosts also offered great advice on where to go and what was good to ski each day depending on the conditions. They also helped plan routes for the less confident skiers in the group ensuring they could experience the entire mountain while being limited by their ability. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Wow wow wow! The best experience. Everything about our trip was faultless. I would 100% recommend Ski Vertigo and will most definitely be using their services again. Chalet Pegase, Val Thorens Jan 2024. Myself and our group of 5 had a blast. Chalet was perfect for us. It’s in an ideal situation at the top of town and close to all amenities. And yes it really is doorstep skiing. Chalet hosts were great and really looked after us. Food was nice and there was no shortage of wine with the meal if you wanted it. Rooms were fine, comfortable with en-suite facilities. I have been to plusher places in my many years of skiing but have had to pay an awful lot more for them. This chalet finds a nice balance of value / quality that really suited ourselves. Well done Ski Vertigo
