British Airways and Jet2 flights & coach transfers included
Outstanding service; 3 course meals with wine & breakfast included
Tignes, Val Thorens, Val d’Isere & Reberty 2000 (Three Valleys)
Our self catered ski chalets offer you the option to enjoy the exact same premium ski-in, ski-out chalets in Val Thorens. You get the location, the space, the views, and the freedom to eat on your own schedule, cook what you fancy, and save money doing it.
Both Chalet Orion and Chalet Pégase sit within Chalet Alrock, right on the piste near the heart of Val Thorens. Guests staying on a self-catered basis get exactly the same experience as our catered guests. The same outstanding chalet, the same direct piste access, the same flights and transfers, just without the in-chalet food service and weekly clean.

Finding genuinely ski-in, ski-out self catered chalets in Val Thorens is harder than it sounds. Val Thorens is a purpose-built resort, and most accommodation is in apartment blocks. Chalet Orion and Chalet Pégase are rare exceptions: located in a stand alone chalet building with direct piste access on Europe’s highest ski resort.
Our most intimate chalet in the Three Valleys, and one of the very few genuinely ski-in, ski-out stand-alone chalets in Val Thorens. Chalet Orion occupies the lower ground floor of Chalet Alrock, with direct piste access straight from the door.
Three bedrooms, each with their own en-suite shower room. Perfect for a group of six wanting total independence and a brilliant location.
Our larger chalet in Val Thorens, Chalet Pegase, is ideal for bigger groups or families wanting the freedom of self-catering without compromising on quality or location.
Situated on the piste at Chalet Alrock, just below Place du Caron – step outside and the entire Three Valleys ski area opens up in front of you. Sleeps up to twelve across six en-suite bedrooms.
Make the most of your evenings by dining in the comfort of your chalet. Our trusted catering partner will stock your fridge with a selection of freshly prepared meals before you arrive. Choose from a range of catering packages or hand-pick individual dishes to create your perfect menu. Simply follow the included menu cards and enjoy delicious mountain-inspired meals whenever you wish.
You’ll also be able to add your favourite tipples and treats, as this one stop shop will mean you have everything you need on arrival and you won’t be queueing up to pay the in-resort prices!

When choosing self catered ski chalets in France, the resort matters as much as the chalet. Val Thorens removes the one variable you can’t control: snow. At 2,300m, with glacier skiing above 3,000m, Val Thorens is snow-sure from November through to May, making it one of the longest seasons in the Alps.
Val Thorens is the gateway to the world’s largest linked ski area, connecting Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Méribel and Courchevel with over 600km of marked runs. From the beginner magic carpets directly below Chalet Alrock to the black runs off the glacier, Val Thorens caters brilliantly for mixed-ability groups and families.

Our Incredible Catered Ski Chalets in the French Alps

Self catered ski chalets involve a private chalet rental in a ski resort where accommodation, flights and transfers are included in the package, but meals are prepared by you rather than a resident chalet host.
You have sole use of the kitchen, the living areas and all bedrooms, giving your group full flexibility over when you eat, what you eat and how much you spend.
At Ski Vertigo, our self-catered option uses exactly the same chalets as our fully-catered product. The difference is simply the level of in-chalet service, not the quality of the property or the location.

Catered ski chalets in France include a resident host who cooks breakfast, afternoon tea and a three-course dinner with wine six nights a week. They’re ideal if you want to completely switch off.
Self catered ski chalets suit groups who prefer flexibility: eating out some nights, having a lie-in without worrying about breakfast times, or sharing cooking duties as part of the group experience.
Self-catering can also represent significant savings, particularly for larger groups or families who tend to eat simply. Val Thorens has a well-stocked supermarket, and the town centre is minutes from Chalet Alrock on foot.

Our self-catered ski packages include return flights from London Heathrow and shared coach transfers directly to Val Thorens, which is around three hours from Lyon airport. Departures are on Saturdays. You can also add ski or snowboard hire through Ski Vertigo before you travel, at preferential rates, as well as lift passes which will be delivered to your chalet on arrival night.
We’re not a travel agent. We are the tour operator that owns and runs these chalets. When you call us, you’re speaking directly to someone who knows Chalet Orion and Chalet Pégase in detail and can answer every question about the resort, the property and the booking.

Val Thorens is excellent for family ski holidays. The piste directly below Chalet Alrock flattens out toward a run of magic carpets, perfect for young beginners, while more experienced family members can access the full Three Valleys.
A self-catered chalet gives families the flexibility to eat earlier, accommodate fussy eaters and keep holiday costs predictable. Chalet Pégase, sleeping up to twelve, is particularly suited to multi-family groups.
If you’re looking for a catered ski chalet holiday for your family, check out our sister company, Ski Famille, and enjoy a full package including childcare.
Your package includes return flights from London Heathrow to Lyon, shared coach transfers to and from Val Thorens, and 7 nights’ accommodation. You’ll have full use of the kitchen, all communal spaces, and shared access to the sauna within Chalet Alrock. Lift passes and ski hire can be added at the time of booking.
Yes, there is a well-stocked supermarket in the resort centre, a short walk from Chalet Alrock. Val Thorens also has a good range of restaurants and bars if you’d prefer to eat out some nights.
Self-catered bookings do not include the mid-stay clean that comes with our catered service. End-of-stay cleaning is included in the package.
Val Thorens caters for all abilities. Complete beginners can learn on the magic carpets below Chalet Alrock. Intermediate and advanced skiers have access to the full Three Valleys, with over 600km of pistes connecting Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Méribel and Courchevel.
Yes. All Ski Vertigo holidays are ATOL and ABTOT protected, meaning your money is fully secured. You’ll receive an ATOL certificate at the time of booking.
Yes, we strongly recommend pre-booking lift passes through us. We offer preferential rates and deliver passes to your chalet on the evening of arrival, so you can get straight on the slopes first thing Saturday morning.
