Family Ski Holidays in Val d’Isere

Located at 1,850m, Val d’Isère has more traditional Alpine charm than many resorts, with parts of the ‘Vieux Village’ dating back to 1664. Despite having expanded over the years, the town retains its character with newer developments, generally using natural stone and wood.

Val d’Isère, as a ski holiday, has a deserved reputation as a great resort for food, drink and socialising. There are nearly 100 different places to eat and drink when you include those on the mountain. Be sure to visit La Folie Douce if you fancy a mountain party accompanied by dancers and musicians; it’s an experience few venues can rival.

The partly pedestrianised town centre is lively in the evenings offering a huge choice of aprés ski options from a quiet drink to partying until 4am if you’ve the energy! Bananas or Dick’s Tea Bar are always a popular option. There’s a free bus that runs until the early hours in high season throughout the resort for the night owls.
