Skiing at Half Term
For most schools in England and Wales, February half term 2027 falls in the week beginning Monday 15 February, so the key chalet weeks depart on the weekends of 13 and 20 February 2027. Scottish school dates vary by council area, with many breaking up a week earlier. If your dates differ, tell us; we cover departures across the whole of February.
Taking a trip to the slopes is the best way to spend February half term. A bold statement, but we stand by it. After all, what could be more fun than taking your kids skiing between term times?
When you go on half term ski holidays, you’ll benefit from the warmer weather while not having to sacrifice on snow depth. It’s also a great time to teach your children a new sport in a way that you can have fun too!

All of our catered chalets in Reberty 2000, Tignes, Val Thorens, and Val D’Isere are a fantastic base for your half term ski holidays. Superb facilities close to the slopes in world-class high-altitude ski resorts mean a fun and relaxing experience for all the family. Half term is busier than some other periods of the ski season, but all of our resorts have quick modern lift systems and vast ski areas. It’s not too hard to get away from any crowds and find some space of your own to soak up the scenery and fine tune your skiing or snowboarding skills.

How to keep half term ski costs down
Half term is the most expensive week of the winter everywhere in the Alps, but a few choices make a real difference. Book as early as you can; half term prices only move one way as the week fills. Consider Reberty 2000 or La Plagne, where chalet prices run lower than Val d'Isère for the same week. And remember what our price already includes: flights, transfers, breakfast, afternoon tea and six evening meals with wine. Compare like for like and catered chalets at half term are better value than they first look.
Half term with younger children
Our chalets suit families with children who are already at school and ski school age. If you are travelling with under 12s and want dedicated childcare, our sister company Ski Famille runs catered chalets with in-chalet childcare for children from 4 months to 12 years, including during half term week. When is February half term 2027?
For most schools in England and Wales, the week beginning Monday 15 February 2027. The main chalet departures are the weekends of 13 and 20 February.
How far in advance should I book a half term ski holiday?
Half term chalets sell out earlier than any other week; most of our half term space goes nine to twelve months ahead. Booking by early autumn is realistic; booking after Christmas rarely is. Our early bird deals for winter 2026/27 are the best way in.
Which resorts are best at half term?
High resorts with big lift capacity absorb the half term crowds best. All five of our resorts qualify: the Espace Killy above Tignes and Val d'Isère and the Three Valleys above Val Thorens and Reberty 2000 are two of the largest linked ski areas in the world, so the pistes stay skiable even in the busiest week.
Is half term skiing more expensive?
Yes, across the whole industry; it is the highest-demand week of the winter. Booking early and choosing resorts like Reberty 2000 or La Plagne keeps the premium down.
Do you offer childcare at half term?
Through our sister company Ski Famille, yes: in-chalet childcare for children from 4 months to 12 years. Our own chalets suit families with older children who will be in ski school or on the mountain.
Can grandparents or non-skiers join a half term trip?
Absolutely. Catered chalets work well for mixed groups; non-skiers get the mountain scenery, the food and the hot tub without ever clipping into a ski.
