Introducing Chalet Iceberg

Chalet Iceberg is a charming, rustic chalet in typical Haute Tarentaise style that sleeps 9 guests in 5 bedrooms, each having its own bathroom.

Chalet Iceberg shows off beautiful wood panelling, local stone and features stunning south-facing views of the ski area and glacier over the lake.

It is only 200m from the nearest lift and piste. The lounge is separate to the dining room – both have log fires and huge, panoramic windows with a balcony.

Chalet Iceberg is ideal for small groups or two families that wish to holiday together.

When you buy from us, the whole holiday package is included; flights, transfers and catered chalet accommodation. Chalet Iceberg sleeps up to 9 people in the following configuration:

The Ski Area

Explore the 300km of pistes in the Tignes-Val D’Isère ski domain from close to the chalet. It takes 2 minutes to walk to the Chardonnet button lift from Chalet Iceberg where you can most easily access the Palafour part of the ski area and you can see the famous Aiguille Percée (the ‘eye of the needle’ rock formation). Alternatively from there, ski right to Lavachey and Les Boisses or left to Val Claret and the Grande Motte glacier. Both ways lead to Val D’Isère if that’s where you wish to go.

Equally you have a bus stop just 1 minute down the hill from Chalet Iceberg which takes you both ways too, or gets you back to the chalet easily when your legs are suffering!

The Resort

Chalet Iceberg is situated in Tignes Le Lac where most chalet accommodation is located. There are multiple restaurants, cafés, shops and supermarkets all a short walk away. The bus stop can whisk you quickly to Lavachey or Val Claret for après-ski too.

There is a leisure centre in Le Lac (free access with a 6 day lift pass), a luge and many other attractions.

Ski/board hire via Ski Vertigo

Prebook your ski/board hire through us before you travel and receive access to our preferential rates. We have partnered with Intersport, the shop that is closest to the central lifts and ski school meeting point, making swaps easier. You will receive a voucher which can be presented at the shop in return for your equipment.

Lift Passes via Ski Vertigo

Save hassle in resort and prebook your lift passes through Ski Vertigo for ease and convenience. Call our sales team today on 01252 365490 to prebook them. They will be delivered to your chalet the evening you arrive in resort for your ease and convenience.

Flights

Flights are with British Airways on a Ski Vertigo charter from Heathrow or Gatwick to Lyon.

Heathrow

Outbound: BA8606 at 0730 from LHR Terminal 5 with arrival at 1010 into LYS

Inbound: BA8607 at 1100 from LYS with arrival at 1140 into LHR Terminal 5

Gatwick

Outbound: BA8624 at 0620 from LGW South with arrival at 0900 into LYS

Inbound: BA8625 at 1000 from LYS with arrival at 1040 into LGW South

Transfers

Coaches will be waiting outside the terminal in Lyon to transfer you directly to Tignes. On the return, you will be transferred directly to Lyon by coach. Transfer time to/from resort is approx. 3 hours under normal conditions.

In Resort

On arrival in resort, all guests will need to disembark at the central bus station where your bags will be transferred by us to your chalet whilst you make your way on foot the short distance to the chalet with our staff. On departure, the same happens in reverse.

My wife and I had our first chalet experience with ski vertigo in Valdisere. We stayed in chalet Ontario and after a huge delay getting to the chalet we were greeted by our two hosts for a late night supper. I can’t speak highly enough of the chalet or the hosts, the food was plentiful and always delicious. Breakfast was a variety of cooked breakfasts, eggs and pastries. Evening meal was always a three course affair and the wine was also delicious with several options available. Coming off the hill to a different cake baked fresh each day was a delight and the hot tub offered welcome relief. The hosts also offered great advice on where to go and what was good to ski each day depending on the conditions. They also helped plan routes for the less confident skiers in the group ensuring they could experience the entire mountain while being limited by their ability. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Wow wow wow! The best experience. Everything about our trip was faultless. I would 100% recommend Ski Vertigo and will most definitely be using their services again. Our chalet hosts, Becky and Steve, were incredible - attentive, friendly and talented. The food was incredible and their service was impeccable. Thank you both for making our trip so special. The chalet we stayed in was perfect, it was a great size for a group of 13 friends, clean and maintained very well.

Chalet Pegase, Val Thorens Jan 2024. Myself and our group of 5 had a blast. Chalet was perfect for us. It’s in an ideal situation at the top of town and close to all amenities. And yes it really is doorstep skiing. Chalet hosts were great and really looked after us. Food was nice and there was no shortage of wine with the meal if you wanted it. Rooms were fine, comfortable with en-suite facilities. I have been to plusher places in my many years of skiing but have had to pay an awful lot more for them. This chalet finds a nice balance of value / quality that really suited ourselves. Well done Ski Vertigo
