Located at 1,850m, Val d’Isère has more traditional Alpine charm than many resorts, with parts of the ‘Vieux Village’ dating back to 1664. Despite having expanded over the years, the town retains its character with newer developments, generally using natural stone and wood.
Val d’Isère, as a ski holiday, has a deserved reputation as a great resort for food, drink and socialising. There are nearly 100 different places to eat and drink when you include those on the mountain.
