Chalet Appaloosa is a lovely chalet that was a new addition for the 2023/24 season perched above the town, just a short walk up the hill from Rue de la Balme and our other Val d’Isère chalets. It is built into the steep hillside so offers enticing views across the resort.
Chalet Appaloosa is spread over five floors (there is a lift to all of them except the mezzanine!) with the sleeping accommodation distributed over two. The rooms are generously sized, most with a seating area, ensuite bathroom and a balcony. On the lowest floor, there is even a wellness area that has a large hot-tub and a steam room.
The communal areas are in two parts with dining room situated next to the open-plan kitchen. Up the stairs on the mezzanine and under the eaves, you will find the soft seating where you can relax around the fireplace.
The bus stop is conveniently situated approx. 100m away from Chalet Appaloosa at the bottom of the hill from where you can take Val d’Isère’s excellent bus service to the slopes and into town. Alternatively, the village centre is a 4 minute walk and it’s a 10 minute walk to the Solaise and Bellevarde lifts.

Chalet Appaloosa sleeps up to 14 people in the following configuration:
Val d’Isère needs little in the way of introduction; it has one of the best snow records in France and an extensive ski area with over 300kms of pistes, served by 96 lifts. It links to neighbouring Tignes to offer some of the highest skiing in Europe.

Chalet Appaloosa is situated close to the atmospheric and pretty village centre and ski lifts. The partly pedestrianised resort centre is lively in the evenings offering a huge choice of aprés ski options from a quiet drink to partying until 4am, if you have the energy!
Prebook your ski/board hire through us before you travel and receive access to our preferential rates. We have partnered with Skiset, the shop that is closest to the central lifts and ski school meeting point, making swaps easier. You will receive a voucher which can be presented at the shop in return for your equipment.
Save hassle in resort and prebook your lift passes through Ski Vertigo for ease and convenience. Call our sales team today on 01252 365490 to prebook them. They will be delivered to your chalet the evening you arrive in resort for your ease and convenience.
Flights are with British Airways on Ski Vertigo’s own flight from London Heathrow to Lyon.
Outbound: BA8606 at 0730 from LHR Terminal 5 with arrival at 1010 into LYS Terminal 1
Inbound: BA8607 at 1100 from LYS Terminal 1 with arrival at 1140 into LHR Terminal 5
Coaches will be waiting outside the terminal in Lyon to transfer you directly to Val d’Isere. On the return, you will be transferred directly to Lyon by coach. Transfer time to/from resort is approx. 3 hours under normal conditions.
On arrival in resort, all guests may need to disembark at the central bus station where your bags will be transferred by us to your chalet whilst you make your way on foot the short distance to the chalet with our staff. On departure, the same happens in reverse.
