Tignes’ main resort is on the edge of Le Lac, and sits at an altitude of 2100m with the Grande Motte Glacier sitting proudly above it rising to 3456m.
The resort was developed with skiers in mind so access to the slopes is great. Tignes is famous for its off-piste skiing and has many classic runs to challenge the best skier or boarder. There is also a half pipe, boardercross and freeriding.
Tignes is a relatively affordable French ski resort and there are a wide variety of restaurants on the slopes and nightlife options in the resort itself. The ski area is linked to neighbouring Val d’Isère.
